About Our Name
Many people have asked us about our name. Sapere is pronounced Sĕ-pĕr’-ē. In Latin,
it means “to be wise or knowledgeable” and in Italian, it means “to taste or flavor”.
Our Philosophy...
Trained as a dietician and nurse, I frequently took care of patients who had a hard
time giving up their favorite foods - foods which were notoriously high in calories,
sugar, fat and cholesterol. Sugar was especially difficult for people to avoid since
it is in practically everything and there were almost no good alternatives. However,
we believed that a great tasting sugar alternative was possible. Pooling knowledge
from nutritional and food sensory science, nursing science and healthcare research,
we set out to develop the best possible natural sweetener and, 2 years later, Eco-BeeCo™
was born. Eco-BeeCo™ was specifically developed for people who love to sweeten foods
and beverages but prefer to reduce their sugar intake.
